Initial Psychiatric Evaluation/Consultation

Dr. Cross provides psychiatric consultations with the goal of evaluating for depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and psychotic disorders in adults aged 18 and older. She also evaluates for these conditions and cognitive changes in older adults. As part of the consultation, she can discuss potential diagnoses and a treatment plan. When appropriate, and with consent, she can coordinate with family or exiting treatment team members. The initial evaluation is scheduled for 90 minutes, although additional appointments and collateral may be necessary to clarify a diagnosis. Dr. Cross recommends that this initial appointment be done in-person, especially for adults presenting with co-morbid medical issues or cognitive concerns. If attending an initial appointment in person is not feasible, please contact Dr. Cross to discuss. Cost is $550 for 90 minutes.

Medication Management

Following an initial evaluation, Dr. Cross can offer ongoing psychiatric medication management and monitoring. Appointments can usually be done either virtually or in-person, although there may be times where an in person appointment is necessary (when a physical evaluation is needed to evaluate for a side effect, for example). Appointments are most often 25 minutes, although longer appointments can be scheduled for more complex decision making or care coordination. Cost is $225 for 25 minutes.

Psychotherapy

Dr. Cross offers individual psychotherapy, with either a supportive or psychodynamic approach. Most commonly, this is a weekly appointment although other frequencies (such as twice weekly or every other week) may be more appropriate. Therapy can either be short-term or long-term, depending on personal goals and situation. Appointments are scheduled for 50 minutes, and can be done either in-person or virtually. Cost varies, depending on if combined with medication management.

Payment

Dr. Cross is an out of network provider. All services provided are self-pay, and she does not participate in any insurance panels (including Medicaid and Medicare). If your insurance provides you with “out of network” benefits for mental health care, she can provide you with an invoice that can be submitted to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Prior to your appointment, you are encouraged to discuss your benefits and the process of reimbursement with your insurance provider. Per Medicare regulations, Medicare beneficiaries may not submit claims for reimbursement and must sign a private contract with their physician.

Payment can be made by check or credit card. Payment is due at the time of service.

Late or Missed Appointments

Unexpected changes to schedules do occur, and Dr. Cross will try to accommodate the need to reschedule appointments if an issue arises. However, your appointment time is reserved for you. If you become aware that you need to cancel or reschedule, advanced notice is requested. If you cancel without 24 hours of notice or do not show for your scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full appointment fee, including an initial evaluations. A credit card number will be requested to reserve an initial consultation.
